PRESS WRITEUP - The prolific Vladislav Delay returns with his techno-inspired declaration as Uusitalo. Following the heels of the outstanding house project Luomo, Vladislav Delay continues his experimentation in other directions and genres of club music. Vapaa Muurari is a post-product of his Mille Plateaux release Entain. It continues where Entain left off, only on a different platform. It's imaginary club lifestyle music. The basic elements of his first release for Force Inc. will be available on vinyl for creative DJ usage. However, the cd is another version that represents the continuous live mix of the music. Seventy-one minutes of groove is captured to tape and designed to give the listener a new perspective of election music. The tracks on the new album are again outstretched masterpieces with a deep affection for dub and spatial dimensions. His tracks are the finest example of music without a center, but music in its continuous variation, step by step. Music proceeds by disjunction and de-centering, disjointed polytheism. Lines, moments appear in sounds and disappear there are no themes, which are created, no bringing of a development of forms, but sound is becoming a force. Uusitalo is extracting vibrations, variations, modulations and decomposition. Again Vladislav Delay's music is a crystal of space-time.

LANCE McGANNON COMMENTS -- Uusitalo is the Vladislav Delay guise that stylistically bridges the gap between his Vladislav Delay releases on Mille Plateaux + Chain Reaction and his Luomo guise on Force Inc. Expect the abstract spacious experimental dub elements of his Vlad Delay releases mixed in with tech-house-tinged percussive elements. Vladislav rarely disappoints.

NOTE: "Luukas Onnekas, Finnish producer, makes his debut on Force Tracks with this release. Both tracks are running over ten minutes, funky minimalism, deep and floating." "Vladislav Delay produced deep dubby house with fresh ideas" - Mind Records.

"Luukas Onnekas" translates as 'Lucky Luke' (a popular French cowboy cartoon), so we have all reasons to suspect this is not a real person but a Vladislav Delay alias... -pHinn

Luomo
Waltz for Your Eyes (12")
January 2003

NOTE: limited edition, one-sided 12". "A special treat for all you Boomkat regulars, get your teeth into this, a limited one-sided and etched 12" from Mr Vladislav Delay himself. Recording under his Luomo guise, this could well be the last underground release from him as BMG have now signed the boy wonder for the foreseeable future. From his timeless and groundbreaking Chain Reaction releases right up to the acclaimed Force Inc album 'Vocal City', we have eagerly followed his every move with anticipation, and this 12" is gonna blow right up. Starting off with lush Rhodes keys and treated vocals you know from the first melody how large this track is, a pop classic that grooves like a mother, the 4/4 reinforces the bassline, the keys are joined by a little guitar that adds a dash of Balearicism and the flow is well under way. The way the track grooves throughout is superior, Luomo has pulled all the funk out of his little boxes for this track, and subtly crafted what is sure to become a classic cut. Commercial as you like, accessible as you like and very, very good!" - http://www.boomkat.com/

VERTICAL FORM

Pub
Summer Part 1 (12")
Vertical Form 03
April 2000
B. Summer / They Can't See Us in the Dark - Delay Configuration

NOTE: "On their third release the Vertical Form label tones things down a bit with a beautiful melodic 2-tracker from Ampoule label artists Pub. The A-side features the original 16-minute version of Summer in all its downtempo warmth and glory that was supposedly recorded live without the help of any samplers or sequencers. Like Various Artists' No 8 track, this is just one of those deep melodic electronic tracks that subdues you with its waves and waves of warmth and melody. On the flip side Vladislav Delay gives his interpretation of Summer which he entitles 'They Can't See Un In the Dark - Delay Configuration.' Vlad's mix, which is over 18 minutes in length, reconstructs the warm happy sounds of the original into a more experimental and slightly more percussive dub track. An excellent record from Vertical Form and easily their best release to date."
