Sauna is a place to get washed, to relax, to meditate, to have a meeting, to make important decisions or to have sauna parties. The exact origins of sauna are obscure, but the first saunas came to Finland about 2.000 years ago. A Finnish sauna is an insulated, heated (80-100 °C) room where people gather naked to enjoy the warmth. Water is thrown on the hot stones of the stove for the steam to fill the room, to make the heat more intense, and to stimulate perspiration. If it gets too hot, one can cool down outside and then go back to the steam again. This might go on for hours while chatting, celebrating and having beers. Todays party people in Finland like to combine the sauna experience with music and drinks. Do you know that the sauna experience is comparable to the hot and deep vibes of clubs? From House to electro, it's all here, in a weird Finnish style.

Once he cooled down Mark Hakonen-Meddings enjoys nothing more than making house and downbeat techno with muffled beats of a polar bear's footstep. The electronic sounds are as clear as an icicle, easing between pinging Basic Channel dub house and tripping breakbeat to brooding, repetitive techno loops. It can prove a bit much in one listen but individually some of these provide a coolly humid and alternative way to chill out."
