function historyFunction Recordings Helsinki label was founded by DJ Gamma in 1994. Since then the label has produced and promoted Finnish underground music and it has co-operated with most of the Finnish progressive underground labels such as e.g. Sähkö, Mind Records, Dum Records and others.
In 1995 DJ Ender of Nu Spirit Helsinki joined Function Recordings Helsinki. After his progressive studies as a producer alongside Gamma he set up in 1998 under Function Recordings Helsinki the mainly house orientated label Sound on Ground. DJ Ender started DJing in 1989 and is nowadays to one of the most respected DJs in the Finnish underground club scene. Ender is a resident DJ in many different clubs in Helsinki and has achieved a international reputation for kicking out the action at the house floors in Berlin (Tresor), Copenhagen (Mantra), St. Petersburg (Planetarium), New York (Save the Robots)...
