Padded Cell first appeared on DC Recordings in 2003 with a remix of Big Two Hundred's 'Let It Bleed'. We are now proud to present 'Signal Failure', their debut release for DC on the 14th November 2005.

With this collaborative project, inmates Richard Sen (Bronx Dogs) & Neil Beatnik break out of their straitjackets by fusing live instrumentation with razor-sharp programming and deft studio technique.

First up is 'Signal Failure'; with an ever-building montage of fractured synth riffs, cut-up sonar bleeps, bubbling bass tones, crackling electrics & cavernous sonics, this is sub-aquatic elektro gone to the darkest depths of the disco.

Then for the flipside, we go to the 'Unknown Zone', where the tweaked bug funk of the bassline sets the tone, prowling as it does beneath evolving layers of delay-heavy keys and guitar harmonics courtesy of Stevedeadboy. Then the horror-core synths kick in, reaching like ESP projections from within the Padded Cell to the freakiest corners of the dancefloor; this is disco-dub for those late night hours when weird things start flickering through your peripheral vision.

Expect further material from the Padded Cell in early 2006.
