In the early hours of February the 14th 2004 J. Saul Kane (aka Depth Charge/The Octagon Man/Alexander's Dark Band/My Little Bunny) was the victim of a freak accident. While relaxing with a Braun foot spa after a hard day in the studio Kane grew restless and, remembering his evening appointment at the Queensway Bowling alley, decided to prepare his much treasured 'bastard' ball with his recently acquired electric ball buffer. After 20 minutes of intense buffing Kane's wrists weakened, he lost grip of the slippery ball, and instinctually lunged to retrieve it with both hands, the buffer fell into the foot spa.

Kane missed his evening appointment and only remembers waking up with heavy shrivelled feet, his hair standing on end, and a strangely sense of smell and recurring twitch in his left nut.

Inspired, Mr Kane escaped the hospital and headed straight to the studio; a day later, Hi Voltage Man was born. Crackling with the intensity of a ball buffer spiralling into a chemical foot spa, this sonically charged molten lump of electro dementia throws caution & sanity to the wind and reflects Kane's present head state, post-electric shock.

On the flip side Taste Of England was recorded pre-electric shock and demonstrates the previous rational mind and long-established sound of its creator. Customary film dialogue extracts are pasted over filthy staccato beats, acoustic guitar, harp and cinematic strings resulting in a distinctively British theme of wide screen proportions.
