A. The TV Extra Band
B. Bloody Hell

Andy Meecham (Big Two Hundred/Chicken Lips) powers up The Emperor Machine for another voyage into deep space. 'The TV Extra Band' is the 3rd single under Andy's pioneering E.M guise and follows 'Expanding In Reproduction' (Jan 04) and 'Pro Mars' (April 03).

After recently providing E.M remixes for the Psychonauts (Gigolo) and K.I.M (Tigersushi) Andy took some quality time out to sift through his mountainous Dr Who video collection and after many hours of viewing was inspired to write 'The TV Extra Band', the Dr's influence is clear. All the E.M hallmarks are present, reverberating sci-fi sound effects, melodic analogue synth lines but unlike its predecessors replaces electronic beats & synth generated bass with live drums & bass hinting at a shift in future direction.

On the flip side the spatial opening of "Bloody Hell" only serves as an introduction to the monstrous bass line that follows, once yours intestines have acclimatized to that the drums kicks in, percussion starts to clatter, synths fill the remaining void and it's death in the disco! This is a dark synth-noir odyssey that you don't want to return from.

The debut Emperor Machine alubm "Aimee Tallulah Is Hypnotised" (DC56LP/CD) is due for release on DC Recordings on the 04.10.04.
