- please, update your links!The 21st century is now upon us, which has caused different reactions among different people during the last few years. As a consequence of this and the rapid acceleration in the information technologies during the 1990s, the Net is now full persons who could bluntly be called cranks, lunatics and religious freaks who, with some other "weird" people, have created homepages celebrating the forthcoming next millennium, and also predicting the apocalypse and world's end, the Second Coming of Christ, the landing of UFOs, Armageddon, and so on and so on, so I thought to share some of these "discoveries" of mine with you.
Generally this phenomenon is named "Millennium Fever" or "Pre-Millennial Tension" -- or even "Eschatofobia" -- though I personally prefer to call it "Millennial Hysteria"...
Some of these people are quite harmless, some are not (e.g. the Branch Davidians - remember David Koresh?), so proceed with your own responsibility. There are also some sensible, level-headed people discussing the topic, like some serious futurologists, ecologists etc., but it's the task of your own critical mind to find out which is which.

(No, I don't personally believe in this stuff. At the moment [post-9/11] I'd be more worried about the greenhouse effect, global warming, the third world poverty and local crises, for example, but probably most people will go on with their lives, nevertheless.)
