Their manager Peter Jenner (also of early Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett) thought they were the Sex Pistols nearly ten years before the Sex Pistols. Their best-known track "Out Demons Out" was an adaptation of The Fugs' song "Exorcising The Demons Out Of The Pentagon". They released "Apache Dropout", which combined Captain Beefheart's "Drop Out Boogie" with The Shadows' "Apache". The were the biggest name of the late 1960s/early 1970s British anarchic post-hippy scene, with a revolutionary fervour and giving their regards to Whitehall with "Up Yours" -- maybe a comparison to the High Time era MC5 would not be such a long shot -- and then, vanished without a trace. But gladly, not totally: an excellent "Best Of" compilation CD Out Demons Out! was released in 2001 in the series of re-releases from EMI's legendary prog-sublabel Harvest. Check them out.
