NOTE: "all tracks are more dense and pressing than the Vakio tracks, and all of them have a kind of weird groove, but other than that they're pretty similar to Vakio. Very minimal, hardly any shifts, but they are there if you listen. And of course the obligatory crackling getting louder during the track. On B1, it sounds like the machines are catching fire." - Peter Gebert.

NOTE: "Interesting Mego-styled experimental electronica from Pan sonic, Pita and Charlemange Palestine. These five tracks were recorded as part of the Masterclass Festival utilizing instruments I've never heard of before - a rauscher, schellenbaum and siren. The tracks vary in sound from one based entirely on whirring and whooshing sounds to another comprised of bell and castinette sounds to one based on a 9-minute drone tone. But the gem of this release is the 18 minute collaborative track by Mika Vainio (Pan sonic) and Peter Rehberg (Pita). Good experimental fun."

    The sleeve notes:

Pfft. It is the sound you get when you blow air through the gab [sic] between your teeth. It can also come from a pneumatic machine, or maybe it is an animal, some bird, perhaps. It is also caused by reed instruments, voltage controlled oscillator, resonant filters, tapes and turntables, most certainly this particular sound is created out of electricity and excitement. It requires some talent, a lot of intuition and some creative accidents. You can find some pfft on this album. This is music made by RinneRadio and re-shaped and remixed by Ø aka Mika Vainio. Pfft is a simultaneous remix. RinneRadio played in one room and Ø remixed the music in another one. The album was recorded live on March 31st 1995 at the ARS exhibition opening club in Helsinki.
